Continuation of commuter rail service...

TCRC offers the continuation of commuter rail service in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver during any work disruption...

We wrote to CP yesterday indicating that we would continue operating the commuter train service on all the lines without disruption, said Doug Finnson, Vice-President of the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference (TCRC), who is representing CPs workers. CP has written to us today indicating they will not operate Commuter Trains in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. We are sorry that our employer has so little consideration for travelling public.

Letter sent to Mr. R. Wilson on May 18th 2012:

Mr. R. Wilson
Assistant Vice President

Re: Operating Commuter Trains in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver

Sir,

Please be informed that in the event of a strike or lock-out at CP, the membership of the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference will operate the commuter rail service in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver during any work disruption. This is consistent with previous discussions with you and the Honorable Lisa Raitt, Minister of Labour earlier this week.

Respectfully,
